Behavioral Health Services
"This pain takes every ounce of my
energy and I have nothing left over for my family or friends."
"My health problem has lasted so long, I'm afraid it will never
be any better."
"My condition overwhelms me, and it's hard for me to make
decisions like I used to."
Sound familiar? Chronic pain and limitations in physical ability
are complex problems involving every part of a person-mind, body
and soul. It affects every part of your life. With its demands
for rest, chronic pain and disability can lead to additional
problems of muscle weakness, weight gain, higher blood pressure,
and decreased flexibility. Even normal physical activities can
become painful, putting further limits on what one can do. With
no relief in sight and little energy, many people withdraw.
Financial hardships, strained family relationships and
depression are often a part of this difficult problem.
Dr. Brian D. Carr, a Licensed Psychologist,
joined Homestead in 2007 as Director of Behavioral Health
Services. For over 25 years he has provided psychological
services within a medical/surgical setting. Within the home
health model of service he serves as a consultant to our
patients, their families, and our staff in working toward a
complete model of health care.
