We
Bring Smiles With Us!
A smiling face can bring a ray of sunlight
into a dark house. We understand that home health services are not
complete without paying attention to all the needs of our patients.
Homestead nurses are drawn from many backgrounds but all have one thing in
common...a sophisticated understanding of what is needed in nursing
their patient. Many of our nurses have decades of experience in such
areas as critical care, coronary services, and mental health. Our
staff of caregivers are insured, bonded, and carefully screened
prior to placement.
Homestead offers a smooth process of referral that is designed
to not give you additional worries. We will contact the
physician, obtain orders, check and file with insurance
carriers, and keep you informed of your rights and status. We
work to offer our patients flexibility in scheduling the hours
and days they would like to receive care each week. We customize
the care plan and schedule the best times to meet their needs.
Our team works from the belief that we can provide service that
we would want for our family. After all, you're coming home with
us!
Understanding the
Types of Service and Medicare Coverage
Medicare can be a
confusing series of phone calls and brochures. While Medicare
does pay for home health services it is important to understand
the difference between "Home Health" and "Private Duty"
services. Home Health care maintains a medical focus while
private-duty care is more associated with non-medical care, such
as grooming and bath assistance, meal preparation, and light
housekeeping. Another principle difference between the two has
to do with who pays. Home Health services are included in
Medicare and most traditional health insurance. Private duty
services are usually paid out of pocket by the client.
Differences in
service coverage between Home Health and Private Duty Services
are listed in the table below.

In addition to
the provision of health care services, all hourly care patients
are managed by one of the Home Care Coordinators, who monitor
the care of each patient. In order to provide high quality care
that simplifies the situation for the patient our coordinators
can manage and administer their care by providing physicians and
family members with periodic updates, ordering refills, and
identifying/assisting the patient and their family in solving
problems that may arise at the patient's home.
